The Session Selector

Just installed the preview and I think I like it, me thinks. It has a long way to go though. Its advance prospective features may take Canonical time and/or great fixes to make it the greatness it is rather fighting for in the convergence space.

Unity 8 apps are running fine, with some bugs, as you would expect. Some don’t even open. This should not startle anyone however. I love the animations that seek to be as smooth as possible. Dont forget it is a preview. It will definitely improve as time goes by.
After I read Joey-Sneddon’s post on omgubuntu.co.uk about the issues one is to expect, I went ahead to test it out for my self. There is still a lot of work to be done, as i noticed, with the touch-pad/mouse interactions with the Unity screen elements. It was rather uncomfortable to carry out some maneuvers. Such that made me opt back into Unity 7(default on 14.04 LTS). I would expect the experience to be somewhat acceptable on the touch devices. As primarily, the interface was aimed at Ubuntu Touch. But lets give the works-man his due. The Interface has a long way to go, but a fresh breathe of unity.
